Help us choose colours and style of new front doors - The results

More than 500 votes were cast across two polls to allow customers a choice of styles and colours for new front door installations.

As part of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) project, new front doors may be required to help improve the energy efficiency of customers’ homes.

Instead of providing the traditional and typical style and colour of doors, we wanted to give our customers greater choice and launched a vote.

Customers were asked to select from nine different styles and nine colours, with the top three in each vote being taken forward and given as options to customers when they need a new front door through the SHDF project.

A total of 537 votes were cast. The top three styles chosen were Flush Grained, Larkin and Chaucer, with the three most popular colours being Anthracite Grey, Black and Chartwell Green.

Jo-ann Stother, SHDF Programme Manager, said: “I’m delighted with the number of people that have taken part in this vote to choose the styles and colours of front door which we’re able to offer.

“While the SHDF project is improving our stock, we need to remember that these are our customers’ homes.

“By allowing customers a choice, it’s increasing the likelihood that they’ll be proud of where they live and look after their homes.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the first doors installed using the chosen designs and colours.”

It’s also being explored as to whether these options can be adopted as part of our Planned Works programme from next year, giving more of our customers a choice of front door.

Doors will have chrome furniture including a lever handle, thumb turn lock inside and key lock outside, letter box and door numbers.
